Jujutsu Kaisen’s highly anticipated second season has received further information.

We now know that the second season of the television show Jujutsu Kaisen will air sometime in July 2023. A new teaser trailer for the next anime was used to announce the news, which was made available as part of the ongoing Jump Festa event taking place in Japan. It was also stated that the second season will air for two episodes, for a continuous run of half a year, along with the release window. The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will adapt both the Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu and Shibuya Incident storylines from the popular manga.

Check out the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 teaser video below:

With the first season of 24 episodes, Jujutsu Kaisen made its debut in October 2020 and quickly gained popularity among viewers. On December 24, 2021, a movie called Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was released in Japan. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has subsequently become the 64th-highest-earning movie in Japanese box office history.

The anime is based on the same-named manga series. In Japan, both manga and anime have achieved great success; the manga alone has sold over 55 million copies.

The official summary for Jujutsu Kaisen is, “Yuji Itadori is a high school student with remarkable physical ability, living a regular life.” But one day, in an effort to free a classmate from a “curse,” he consumes a particular grade cursed object known as “Sukuna’s Finger,” becoming afflicted from the inside out. Itadori, who now cohabitates with the cursed spirit “Sukuna,” enrolls at the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, a facility that specializes in curses, to learn from Satoru Gojo, the most potent jujutsu sorcerer. A tale about a high school kid carrying a curse and trying to cast it out. His courageous story starts to take shape without a chance to turn back.

There are now 14 story arcs in the manga, and the first season’s adaptations covered six of them, totaling 64 chapters. The adaptation of the Death Painting arc brought season one to a close, therefore the adaptation of the Gojo’s Past arc will open season two. The sorcerer’s life as a second-year student is the focus of this particular arc, which comprises about 14 chapters. The two were on a mission to accompany the Star Plasma Vessel, which had to go to Master Tengen, and Geto was his classmate at the time.

The Shibuya Incident storyline, however, will be the major emphasis of the second season. The alliance of cursed people and curse spirits, which Geto and Mahito forged, will be the main subject of this arc. They’ll try to permanently imprison Gojo Satoru. Fans can anticipate some thrilling battles in this arc, and MAPPA’s top-notch animation will be the cherry on top.
